“Connect with as many people as you can, be bold in your decisions especially when applying for jobs. You will get a lot of rejection, that’s okay, you don’t know until you find out”
Ellie is a freelance neurodivergent practitioner and director, with strong experience in facilitation. After graduating with a first class degree in Drama in Performance, her work has been community based working with refugees, queer youth, and those with additional learning needs. Ellie specialises in queer theatre practice, and is currently artistic director of OmniArts based in Portsmouth, where she has been teaching an online group called Queer Creatives since 2020.
To date, this is the only group of its kind in the UK, exploring various art forms from a queer perspective, and celebrating those voices throughout history. In 2022, she debuted her 'Queer theatre for beginners' workshop at the Youth voice conference at Chichester Festival Theatre. Currently, she leads the Drama Skills pathway at SAND in Worthing, and facilitates at Downtown Pompey, which she has also co-directed for. Throughout her career, Ellie has always been passionate about making the arts accessible to all and encouraging the next generation of creatives.
