Our events

The Truth & Tails production has just completed a successful run, including 16 performances in West Sussex schools and libraries. The Chichester Festival Theatre’s 2023 tour, supported by Creative County West Sussex, performed to over 600 children and for many this was their first experience of theatre.

Truth & Tails

The two original stories written by Alice Reeves and illustrated by Phoebe Kirk, from their popular series of books celebrating difference and inclusivity, were brought to life in this stage adaptation directed by Bobby Brook.

‘Such a lovely production, the children were mesmerised from start to finish…’,

‘So many themes to discuss and explore’

‘Really lovely performance, the children loved it!’

‘Lovely stories and brilliantly acted’

‘The children were captivated, brilliant show!

‘The shows were perfectly pitched and our Reception children were engaged and enjoyed the show. The stories are relatable and the way the cast played their roles reflects the way the children role play themselves, which made the show so believable. The performers were fantastic, and the sets and props were so cleverly designed. Thank you to everyone involved’.

Riverbeach Primary School

'Our school is in an area with significant deprivation (bottom 10% in UK) and our children wouldn't usually see live performances. It is therefore critical they have opportunities to. Thank you'

Bersted Green Primary School

'A fantastic show to host at Littlehampton Library - a deprived demographic that wouldn't have abundant opportunities to see this kind of show free of charge. The theme was perfect - one of inclusion and the young people who performed in the show were engaging. It was very well attended with both pre-booked tickets and walk ins.'

Littlehampton Library

'This was an engaging and creative performance which the children loved. It is the first time we have hosted this at Crawley Library and hopefully something we will get the opportunity to do again.'
