As an actor, Mike has performed at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs as Kurt in Fireface (directed by Dominic Cooke) at the National Theatre Studio on a workshop production with Mark Ravenhill and worked with director Rupert Goold performing as Eric in Privates on Parade at The New Vic Theatre and as Gus in Arcadia at The Northampton Royal Theatre and Salisbury Theatre.
As a workshop leader he has designed and delivered sessions for Sixth Form Colleges and Colleges of Further Education for A-Level Drama and Theatre Studies, BTEC and NVQ Performing Arts courses.
Mike has led workshops for The Nuffield Theatre in Southampton, for businesses and for local authorities and is currently working with Chichester Festival Theatre as a freelance practitioner in the Learning, Education and Participation (LEAP) team.
As a playwright his work includes two full length ensemble plays; ‘The Box’ (2005) which was presented as a theatre workshop production in Toronto with Dramaturg Chris Dupuis and ‘A Picture of Alchemy’ (2008) which was produced by Hannah Khalil with Re-Sister Theatre Company at the fringe venue ‘The Etc. Theatre’ in Camden Town, London.
Recently, in Jan 2023, Mike was the lead writer on ‘The Well of Lost Voices’, a community arts project in Chichester run by Words Out Loud (of which Mike is a Trustee) that brought together local writers, poets and performers to present an original piece of theatre at the newly refurbished community performance venue, Graylingwell Chapel.
