(B Ed, ALCM)
Heather is a Musical Director and Practitioner who has an extensive experience and skills encompassing musical theatre and choirs, performance, teaching and composition. Heather has facilitated a broad range of vocal experiences for young people and adults, and currently directs choirs and community singing groups in the local area, including Portsmouth Military Wives choir and the Get into Singing choir with Chichester Festival Theatre.
She enjoys working with people in finding and developing their voice though singing, using both choral work and theatrical performance to achieve this. Heather is drawn to working with music to tell stories, and has often worked in a theatrical context as a Musical Director and Composer with different dramatic companies across Hampshire. Story telling is at the heart of her practice, which she combines with classical and contemporary vocal techniques, when working as a singing teacher and training both students from amateur and professional backgrounds.
Heather can offer workshops on singing and can specialise in storytelling, self expression and confidence, female experience, historical contexts and other topics on request.
